Seasonal eating – what’s best in September?

Each season brings different colours, flavours and scents to the table. Food that grows seasonally is exactly what our body needs for that season to stay balanced. There are a number of good reasons to eat more seasonal food:

• the environment – to reduce the energy needed to grow and deliver the food we eat
• price – to avoid paying a premium for food that is scarcer or has travelled a long way
• community – to support the local economy

• health – it is fresher and therefore tastier and more nutritious!
